Hello!

Hi and welcome to my blog! I use this space to explore a variety of topics and issues relating to libraries, information science, higher education, and academia. To give you some back ground information on why and how I use this blog:

I recently graduated with my Master of Library and Information Studies, MLIS, degree from the University of Alabama’s distance education program. (I will in the near future write more posts detailing my experience with online graduate programs.) Prior to the program, I worked in both public and academic libraries before deciding to further my education. I currently work as in a university library in access services and serials (periodicals). These experiences have provided me with countless opportunities to learn more about a variety of aspects of librarianship and higher education.

As part of my graduate studies, I was required to maintain a blog that detailed my thoughts and reflections from information concepts and articles on librarianship. I enjoyed this aspect of my studies, but was soon lost in the massive amount of reading, writing, and group projects that dominated my life for the duration of the program. Now, a couple months after graduation, I have felt a reoccurring haunt of ghost deadlines and the urge to write something…anything. So, here I am.

Going forward, I hope you’ll join me in a digital conversation on a variety of topics and trends in the field of librarianship.
